Description: Study of the terminology used by Greek and Roman authors (in particular Pliny the Elder, Vitruvius, Dionysos of Halicarnassus, Pausanias, and Plutarch) to describe the concept of exhausted art in sculpture and painting. The case studies of the sculptor Callimachus and the painter Dionysos of Colophon are investigated in detail.
